Unidentified: Translucent robot vending machine figures

What: Soft plastic, translucent robots in different sculpts and colors. Also, the mini figures that look most like hard candy (can't you just imagine these dudes tasting like grape, cherry, lemon, etc?...mmm). There's actually some really nice detail to these figures. I'm guessing they are bootlegs of some sort of Japanese line, but I'm not sure.

When: 1990s

Where: U.S., sold in toy vending machines

Who: N/A

    1. By accident, I have found your answer, Adam. They come from a Japanese cartoon series called Magic King Granzort aka Mado King Granzort.

  2. I have some of these, but all in different colors. I have four out of the six pictured here. I also have a fifth one, that is totally different from the other six you have. If you know where I could go to find more of them, please let me know. I would greatly appreciate it.

  3. I have some of these. I haven't seen any others anywhere until now on this page. I have most of the ones pictured above, all in different colors though. I also have one other from the set which is not pictured here. I wish I could find more of them. If anyone knows how I could do that, please let me know. I would greatly appreciate it.

  4. Madō King Granzort or Magical King Granzort, that is their name. Mystery solved.

    1. You're quite welcome Little Weirdos, my pleasure. I discovered the answer while looking for toy robots on Ebay and a Japanese model figure came up that looked just like one of them. A little further digging on google and further character image comparisons confirmed the ID. If anyone knows where I can find more of them, or is willing to trade or sell any duplicates or extras that they have, please let me know. Thanks.
